Funniest Weed-Themed Comedians
Every one of the following comedians is definitely worth checking out, but some will be difficult to see live. Primarily the ones who are no longer alive.
Doug Benson
Without a doubt, Doug Benson is the king of stoner comedy. He loves weed so much, that he even made a documentary film about cannabis named Super High Me, which documents Benson going without weed for a ‘cleansing period’ followed by smoking it daily for 30 days.
Benson is also famous for other funny films about cannabis including The Greatest Movie Ever Rolled, Chronic-Con: Episode 420, and a podcast Getting Doug With High.
Dave Chappelle
We don’t get to see Dave Chappelle as much as we’d like to. He first became famous with a widespread audience thanks to The Chappelle Show on Comedy Central.
But Dave started doing comedy when he was just a teenager. At 23, he wrote the famous stoner movie Half Baked, which is about four friends who sell weed to help bail out their friend, Kenny (who is jailed for accidentally killing a police horse).
Dave often talks about how black and white people have different ways of getting high. He jokes about why he prefers to smoke weed with his white friends.

Sarah Silverman is an American comedian, writer, and actor. She has been very vocal about her weed usage and even brings it up on The Daily Show (which she hosts) and at award ceremonies. For example, during the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, she talked about her fellow comedian (aforementioned) Dave Chappelle’s weed usage.
She said Chappelle visited her once and smoked an entire marijuana joint without sharing. “It’s puff, puff, pass”, she said, “not puff, puff, puff, puff!”.
Check out Sarah’s YouTube videos (of The Daily Show) where she covers important topics like ‘Does Legal Marijuana Hit Different’ ‘Buying Weed for an Angry Stranger’, and ‘How She Bought Expensive Marijuana’.
Tom Segura

In 2013, he was a guest on the Joe Rogan show where he joked about his experience buying weed in Fort Pierce, Florida. Check out his YouTube videos by Netflix Is a Joke where he talks about using cannabis and asking his father about weed when he was a kid.
Robin Williams
Robin Williams needs no introduction. This famous comedian and actor often talked about marijuana in his comedy routines.
Williams wasn’t afraid to joke about serious topics like the laws against cannabis, all the while making audiences laugh. One memorable joke from his Live At The Met show in 1986 critiqued the differences between using weed and alcohol during a time when people were being told to “Just Say No” to drugs.
Leslie Jones
Leslie Jones is a talented African American stand-up comedian. She was nominated for her scriptwriting for Saturday Night Live. She later joined the popular show as a cast member. Her mimicry of Whoopi Goldberg and Donald Trump is especially memorable.
Jones has been extremely vocal about her marijuana usage. She even admitted to doing several shows when she was high on pot.
On the Howard Stern Show, she smoked a joint with Snoop Dogg and Don Magic Juan. In her memoir Leslie F*cking Jones she admits being a ‘bit vague because she is 55 and has smoked a ton of weed’.

Katt Williams is a multi-talented comedian and actor known for his unapologetic style and boundary-pushing humor. He was a remarkable child prodigy who was accepted into college at just 7 years of age. He admitted to having read thousands of nonfiction books as a child.

Richard Pryor
Richard Pryor was a comedic genius and actor. He was renowned for his raw honesty and drug humor. His struggles with drug abuse often found their way into his stand-up acts, where he shared “stories” rather than jokes. The audience loved this authentic style.

Bill Hicks
Bill Hicks was one of the top standup comedians in the early 1990s. Unfortunately, he passed away too soon at the young age of 32 due to pancreatic cancer. Check out Hick’s comedy about marijuana in the video above and here. It shows us that he was way ahead of his time.
