iPower GLLEDXJMPS4F 36 Watt LED Grow Light Review
It uses less power and generates less heat, drastically lowering your monthly operating costs. Its LED diodes last for 50,000+ hours, which means no bulb changes for at least 4 years, but probably closer to 10. Fluorescent bulbs need to be changed at least once, but preferably twice, per year with regular use.
The GLLEDXJMPS4F has a full spectrum light made up of red, blue and white LEDs. It gives you the same white light spectrum as fluorescent light, but with added blues and reds, since those are the colors used most by plants. This is a full-spectrum light that can be used for all stages of plant growth.
That said, at 36 watts it is not powerful enough to really maximize yields during flowering. This light is meant to replace a fluorescent light and as such, it is ideal for seeding, cloning and vegging.

iPower’s GLLEDXJMPS4F grow light is meant to replace a fluorescent tube and gives you similar results. But it does so while only consuming 36 watts of power and produces almost no heat. This alone saves you a ton in operating costs, but it gets even better.
LEDs last 50,000+ hours, which is 4-5 years of use. Fluorescent tubes have to be replaced every six months. Those costs add up, not to mention the hassle of having to constantly purchase new bulbs and swapping them out.
The light spectrum of iPower’s LED tube is also superior to fluorescent. Fluorescent light includes a lot of green and yellow light, which isn’t used by plants. You are paying for light that just goes to waste.
The GLLEDXJMPS4F LED grow tube has white LEDs that provide a similar light to fluorescent, but it supplements them with red and blue LEDs in the exact wavelengths that plants need the most (630~660nm red light and 430~460nm blue light). This means you are giving your plants only the light they need and nothing else. You are not paying for light that goes unused.
While this light has a spectrum that could be used for flowering, I would only do so as a supplemental light to a larger fixture. It simply isn’t powerful enough to maximize yields.
The real purpose of this fixture is seeding, cloning and vegging. With the adjustable rack, it is perfect for lighting rapidly growing baby plants. You can easily adjust the height of the light to always keep it the perfect distance from your plants.
The rack is easy to assemble and you’ll have it up and ready to grow in minutes. It is lightweight (7.4 pounds), but still sturdy enough to safely hold the light fixture.
When you buy the iPower GLLEDXJMPS4F fixture, you also get a 1-year warranty, just in case something does go wrong with your new light. It is rare, but it is nice to know you are covered.
The main complaint with this light concerns the material used. It is sturdy enough to hold the light, but still feels a little flimsy. It could definitely be stronger. I know the manufacturer was trying to keep the unit as lightweight as possible, but I wouldn’t mind it being a bit heavier, if it meant a stronger construction.
While a one-year warranty is nice, most top competitors in the industry offer at least a 3-year warranty as well as a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. I hope iPower jumps aboard that bandwagon soon.
Summary of iPower GLLEDXJMPS4F LED Grow Light Review
The iPower GLLEDXJMPS4F is one of the lowest cost LEDs on the market. At 36 watts, it is not powerful enough to maximize yields during flowering, but that is not its purpose. It is meant as a direct replacement for a fluorescent tube andas such, it is a great bargain.
It costs less than a fluorescent tube plus the fixture and costs far less to operate. It uses less power and generates less heat, plus you will not have to change bulbs for at least 4 years and probably closer to 10. A fluorescent bulb needs to be changed twice a year.
If you’re looking for a seeding, cloning or vegging light, you were probably considering a T5 fluorescent tube. This light is better in every way. Get yours now and save even more off the already low price.
